Elizabeth Ward is a contemporary artist who creates live-form visual landscapes with installation, sculpture, large-scale spectacle, and performance. She began her career working in performance design for theater, aerial ballet, and opera. The experiential current of live performance now critically informs her aesthetic, exploring the convergence of geography, gender, animal/human symbiosis, and geoscience, investigating how developments in material culture influenced modern society and concepts of social identity.
Ms. Ward has worked with Shuang Zhou, Eiko Ishioka, Bart Sher, Zhang Yimou, Pedro Almodovar, Gonzalo Munoz, Danieli Zambelli, Nina Nastasia, Jen Shyu, Matt August, Tyne Rafaeli, Anne Bogart, Arianna Warsaw-Fan, Meta Weiss, Chen Shi-Zheng, and Chris Bayes.
